Looks like the geek group will be converting a Lotus Espirit to electric!!
Should drum up quite a bit of interest. As well as the new generation! (my generation) Since that is their target audience after all.

Doesn't the Lotus Esprit already have an electric drive system, for when it is in submarine mode?
That's exactly the challenge: when you engage electric drive, the wheels fold away. Not pleasant on your driveway, and even more so on the highway. The Esprit's electric motor drives only the rear propellers (not visible on the image by Only2Jakes), not the wheels. But granted, conversion won't be much of a task, with the electrics already in place. Just reroute the propeller shafts to the rear wheels and block the wheel folding mechanism.
