Guys and Gals,
I thought I would open this discussion up on this board (even though this is El Moto) about putting Solar Cells/Panels on my RV. At very least, I am looking to keep my Lead-Acids charged all the time and I was hoping to keep my compact fridge working (with solar-DC-AC losses) off of pure solar energy (I would love to have the A/C working, but I realize what I would be asking for). I am looking for some ideas or possible insight since the crowd here is much more practical at engineering and versed in far many more subjects/hobbies than most.
What cells would you suggest? I am thinking Uni-Solar's flexible cells, but they would be b!tch to remove if I get a leaking roof (which will surely happen one day). I am thinking any set of panels/cells under 300 pounds. The more power the better, but if I am paying $6/Watt, that is way crazier than I would want.
If not flexible, adhesive backed cells, what mounts and/or contraptions would you think would be best to mount the panels? Aerodynamics, ruggidization, safety and simplicity are key here.
Thanks in advance for all of your help,
Sean
